As the way of medical care is changing, some portable medical devices for monitoring and treatment, which are suitable for communities and families, will be the largest component of medical device market. Besides in-hospital treatment, some other ways of medical care are successively present, including pre-hospital prevention, first aid, in-hospital diagnosis, extramural hospital monitoring, rehabilitation and routine family medical care. In a word, now it is a modern medical security system with diversity and multi-level character. Therefore, portable medical devices, which are easy operated among communities and families, will be the products most in need.

In recent years, standard of living and quality of life have been improved, resulting in the enhanced health awareness of people. While the urban population grows and the the pace of life is accelerated, the population in sub-health is increasing. At the meanwhile, aged population grows. Moreover, daily care and treatment of common diseases and chronic diseases in the older are community-and family-oriented.

In China, the medical model is in rapid development. In detail, general hospitals and specialized hospitals are playing major roles, while community hospitals together with family care, rehabilitation and prevention, are the supplement in the medical system. After discharge, more and more patients need continuous treatment using a variety of family medical supplies. Thus, all are contributed to great business opportunities in family medical devices. Likewise, there is a broad prospect in the family medical supplies, which are with main functions of health care, conditioning, and adjuvant treatment of chronic pain. Also, family medical devices are popular in some beauty, body, together with sports and fitness sectors.

For the market demand, even in the general downturn, family medical devices industry is flourishing in developed countries. In Europe and the United States, health care products accounts for more than 25% of the total expenditure. In contrast, the rate is only 0.07% in China, where the per capita consumption of health care products was only 31 yuan. Compared with other countries, it was one-seventeenth of the United States and one-twelfth of Japan respectively. Thus, there is still a huge market potential for family health care products including medical devices in China.
